Remediation of persistent leaks at a Freshwater home.

Located in a beachside suburb on the Northern Beaches, this residential remediation project involved fixing persistent leaks to restore the structural integrity and durability of this Freshwater property.

Replacing water damaged structural timbers.

Exposed for years to the harsh beachfront elements and originally built with a poorly designed structure, the balcony had suffered extensive water damage. The timber flooring and joists were severely rotted and warped, requiring full removal before any further works could begin.

We installed new compressed timber flooring to provide a stable and resilient base, setting the foundation for our comprehensive waterproofing system.

Protection against the coastal elements.

Below the balcony, the laundry had also been compromised due to ongoing water ingress. To remediate this, we replaced the entire timber framework to establish a sturdy and secure foundation.

Enviroseal wrap was applied to the surrounding walls. This is an essential step in ensuring the space is weatherproof and ready to withstand a harsh coastal climate.

Blueboard cladding was then installed externally, while the internal laundry walls were gyprocked and finished with a fresh coat of paint, restoring the space to a clean, bright, and functional area.

Long lasting waterproofing solutions.

With the structure secure and surfaces properly prepped, we continued with the waterproofing process.

A PVC sheet membrane was installed across the entire balcony, followed by a 24-hour dye test to confirm the membrane was fully sealed and watertight. We then prepared the tile screed to ensure the new tiles would sit evenly and securely.

A secondary liquid membrane was applied as an added layer of protection against future moisture ingress, delivering a comprehensive waterproofing solution built to last.

New modern tiles were laid to complement the overall look and finish of the balcony.

To complete the transformation, we installed frameless glass balustrades, adding a sleek and modern finish that beautifully complements the newly renovated space.

The result is a flawless blend of function and style.
